School Mission

Our School Mission expresses the purpose of our school community, guiding our thoughts, words and actions each and every day.

We put Jesus at the heart of everything that we do.

Inspired by His example, we seek to live out our faith through our actions by showing kindness, compassion and forgiveness, serving others, recognising and celebrating the dignity of every person and making a positive difference in our community and the wider world.

We also live out our Diocesan Mission:

Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts, questioning minds, a thirst for knowledge, and a hunger for justice.

We believe that every child is uniquely gifted, valued and capable of flourishing. Through an ambitious, inclusive and enriching education, we nurture the whole child — academically, personally, spiritually, socially and morally — helping our pupils to develop strong character, a love of learning and a desire to live life to the full.

School Vision

Our vision is for St Peter’s to be a community where faith is lived, not simply taught; where every child and adult is known, valued and empowered to flourish; and where we put our faith into action, inspiring our pupils to be compassionate, curious and courageous people who make a positive difference in the world — now and throughout their lives.

School Values

At St Peter’s, our values are rooted in our mission and vision, helping to nurture our pupils’ faith, character and personal formation and prepare them for life beyond St Peter’s.

Our pupils created their own set of values which, like St Peter himself, are the rock upon which we build our school community.

These values can be best summarised as: kindness, courage and integrity. 

Our school values are complemented by the Catholic School Pupil Profile Values and Virtues, which are taught and lived each day. Each half-term, we place a particular focus on one value and one virtue, giving our pupils opportunities to explore what they mean and put them into practice.

Through Catholic Social Teaching, we help pupils understand how our faith calls us to care for others, respect the dignity of every person, seek justice and care for our common home. We encourage our pupils to put their faith into action through service, generosity and making a positive difference in their school, parish, local community and wider world.

Alongside these, we teach the British Values, helping pupils to understand how these principles connect with our Catholic faith and how they can live them out through their choices, relationships and actions.
